Convert ZIP to TAR
Convert a supported ZIP archive into an uncompressed TAR while validating member paths and expanded file sizes.
Convert an ordinary uncompressed TAR archive to a validated ZIP, preserving accepted file contents and relative paths.
Selecting a file does not upload it. Upload and convert sends it to temporary server storage. One file at a time; 10 MiB maximum.
Supported formats: .tar
Use this tool when a workflow accepts ZIP instead of TAR. Output uses stored ZIP entries rather than claiming compression savings. Member timestamps, ownership and permissions are normalized; the original file bytes are preserved.
One unencrypted archive, up to 10 MiB. At most 100 entries, 8 MiB per file and 24 MiB expanded total. Only ordinary files and directories with simple ASCII paths are accepted. Links, device entries, traversal, conflicting names, nested archives, high compression ratios and empty archives are rejected. Output is capped at 32 MiB. Only uncompressed USTAR-compatible TAR is supported; no TAR.GZ, sparse files or extended PAX metadata.
Your file is uploaded only when you choose to convert. An isolated worker processes it without network access. Uploaded files expire after one hour; completed outputs expire one hour after completion. Failed, cancelled or deleted jobs become eligible for immediate cleanup. Service outages can delay physical deletion; a previously issued download link can remain valid briefly. Clear files to request early deletion. Downloads saved on your device remain there.

No size reduction is promised. The result is a stored ZIP that changes the archive container while retaining accepted file contents. Ownership and timestamps are not preserved.
