How to use PDF to PNG Converter

  1. 1

Choose a supported PDF and read its page list.

  2. 2

Select the pages to render and choose 72 or 144 DPI.

  3. 3

Export PNG pages and download the images or the batch ZIP.

Preserve rendered linework without JPEG artifacts

PNG is useful for diagrams, interface documentation and text-heavy page screenshots where JPEG compression can introduce visible ringing around edges. The image encoding is lossless, but the PDF is still rasterized at the chosen resolution. Pages render on a white background and retain the visible page orientation.

What to expect

PNG output can be substantially larger than JPEG. Increasing DPI cannot restore missing source detail or preserve vector editability. Text selection, links and annotations are not included in the exported page image. This tool does not perform OCR.

Private browser processing and practical limits

Your PDF content is processed in this browser and is not uploaded to FileNimble. Input and output remain in memory until you clear the tool or leave the page. Downloads are saved by your browser. Large or unusually complex PDFs can exceed available device memory even below the stated limits; use a smaller plain PDF if processing fails.

Encrypted PDFs, interactive forms, signed documents, portfolios, embedded files and scripts are rejected. Document-level bookmarks and navigation structures are not preserved by page-copy operations. Results are not certified archival, redacted or sanitized documents. Review important output before sharing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no PNG quality slider?

PNG uses lossless image compression rather than a JPEG-style lossy quality setting. Use resolution to control pixel dimensions, or choose PDF to JPG for smaller lossy files.

Will the background be transparent?

No. Pages are intentionally rendered on white, matching a conventional sheet of paper.

How are exported pages named?

Each filename includes the sanitized source name and its original physical page number, such as report-page-4.png.
