How to use Split PDF into Separate Files

  1. 1

Choose one PDF and read its page count.

  2. 2

Choose one file per page, or enter groups such as 1-3; 4,6; 5.

  3. 3

Create the split files and download each PDF or the entire ZIP.

Choose where each new document begins and ends

Separate a statement into monthly sections or hand out individual pages from a worksheet. Semicolons create separate output files, while commas and ascending ranges choose pages within each file. For example, 1-2; 3,5 makes two PDFs: the first contains pages 1 and 2, and the second contains pages 3 and 5.

What to expect

At most 100 output files and 200 output pages are produced in one run. Pages omitted from custom groups are not included. A page may appear in separate groups, but duplicates inside one group are rejected. No automatic chapter or blank-page detection is performed.

Private browser processing and practical limits

Your PDF content is processed in this browser and is not uploaded to FileNimble. Input and output remain in memory until you clear the tool or leave the page. Downloads are saved by your browser. Large or unusually complex PDFs can exceed available device memory even below the stated limits; use a smaller plain PDF if processing fails.

Encrypted PDFs, interactive forms, signed documents, portfolios, embedded files and scripts are rejected. Document-level bookmarks and navigation structures are not preserved by page-copy operations. Results are not certified archival, redacted or sanitized documents. Review important output before sharing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I split every page into its own PDF?

Yes, for documents of up to 100 pages. For a larger supported document, use custom groups to keep output within the 100-file limit.

Does a split remove pages from my original?

No. New files are generated in browser memory; the original on your device is unchanged.

How are the results named?

Each result uses the sanitized original filename followed by part-1, part-2 and so on. ZIP contents use the same names.
